Preface	The purpose of this book is to provide a source of reference to the students and professional who have interest in the application of computers in manufacturing. Through twenty five chapters given in the book the subject of automation in manufacturing has been covered with following sub-groups that constitute the contents of this book. Through these sections, a comprehensive description of the history of automation, electronic controls, use of computers in design and manufacture, robotics and automated materials movement is provided. The material presented in this book is included to be suitable for senior or final year, undergraduate students of Production-industrial engineering, Mechatronics, and automation engineering and for post graduate students of the related areas such as CAD/CAM.
