Preface	The book has been meant for the students of the Indian Universities who are appearing for M.Sc entrance examination. This book is also useful other competitive examination such UGC-NET/SET/UPSC. The text deals with the important field of Zoology is the branch of biology that includes the study of animals and animal life, including, but not limited to, the study of the structure, physiology and classification of animals. Zoology can be subdivided into two categories--Vertebrate zoology and Invertebrate zoology. This book covers cell structure, production, Genetics, Diversity of life, non-chordates and Chordates, It also covers Vertebrate physiology and embryology, the principles of Genetics, features a revised section on molecular genetics, adding a new coverage of genomics, and a new subsection on molecular systematics. It provides a concise presentation on animal architecture as an introduction to animal diversity, which is the core of most zoology courses. The main purpose of the book is to show some of the educational possibilities and at the same time to describe the diversity of animal life and the fascinating adaptations that enable animals to inhabit nearly all conceivable ecological niches. The figures used in this boo are clearly illustrated. Each topic has been covered elaborately. This has been written in simple and lucid language.
