Class room design problems are normally given to evaluate the capacity of student to get the basic dimensions of machine elements or to check the stability of a design for a particular service conditions. The fifth edition of the book has been changed completely changed into S.I. units in view of the fact that engineering faculty of the entire nation has adopted S.I. units in teaching and practical applications.
