| Preface | We all are witnessing the use of computers, magic machines, all around. No walk ot life is left which is not being influenced by the use of computers. We may talk of doing transactions in a bank by visiting their premises - opening & new account, depositing money, or withdrawing money - computers are being used to facilitate all these operations. Computers with the use of the Internet had made it possible to not only deposit and withdraw money at an ATM across the world, but also allow us to perform any kind of transaction including money transfers from one account to another account in the same bank or a ditterent bank world wide. Railways, airlines, hotels, and even some of the state transport departments are using a computer tor reservation of seats/ rooms, online query handling, getting feedback trom customers, and extending their outreach through their websites. E-payment is a budge word nowadays and using it one can pay their bills (electricity bill, telephone bill, etc.) just from their homes or workplaces by spending a tew minutes on the Internet. The majority of the universities, even now in India, presently are conducting admissions online, where the aspiring students are required to visit their website, and fill out their application forms online.
