| Preface | This book has been written with a view to covering the requirements of a first course in the subject of Mechanics of Solids or the so called Strength of Materials. Apart from classical derivations, about 450 problems have been included adequately covering the various aspects; full solutions for over 250 problems have been given, the rest are left as exercise problems.
